UWDMA has been striving to achieve the best for the industry, through the workshops, events and various symposiums being organised across the country.

Considering the demand for quality labour for our members, UWDMA with support from GIZ, explored options with Government of Rajasthan for setting up a Skill Development Centre in Bhiwadi. After much deliberation and discussions, we got approval to start a 6 months training program to train 10th pass candidates on UPVC Windows and Door production as well as installation. This is a one of its kind centre with 100% funding from members in the form of machines, profiles, hardware, steel, money, manpower and facilities to conduct practical sessions. The Government of Rajasthan has been gracious in allowing us to set up this facility in their ITI in Bhiwadi. We are thankful to the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Jaipur, Govt. of Rajasthan and our esteemed Members to help us fulfil this vision.

In line with the Skill Development initiatives, UWDMA has set up a Basic Skill Development Centre at ITI Bhiwadi, with the support of Govt. of Rajasthan. The U-SDC was inaugurated on 02nd July 2018 at ITI Bhiwadi in the presence of an august gathering comprising of Mr. Ramashankar Pandey (MD Hella India Lighting Ltd.) as the Key-note speaker, Ms. Ute Hoffman (GIZ), Mr. Vasu Sharma (NSDC), Mr. BM Mittal (future president BMA 2019), Secretary BMA, Mr. D V S Raghav, Joint Secretary BMA, Mr. Shailendra Singhal, Mr. Anil Singhal, General Manager – Lingel Windows, many representatives of ITI Bhiwadi, GIZ, UWDMA Members, local NGOs, media and our well-wishers. The classroom is equipped with basic UPVC machines to train students with a lot of practical exposure. Company supervisors from Bhiwadi companies and a trained teacher will be teaching them the basic concepts of Welding, Carpentry, Electrician, Mechanics etc., which are important to work in a fabrication unit.

The first batch of 15 students join the course on 11th July 2018. During the 6 months they will learn to produce and install different types of UPVC Windows and Doors. To facilitate their travel during the training, they will get a stipend of Rs. 2,500 per month. Graduates from this course will be placed in Member companies with salaries ranging from 8 to 10,000 per month.
