In a continued effort to strengthen technical awareness and quality standards within the uPVC window and door industry, the UWDMA (uPVC Window & Door Manufacturers Association) organized a focused Workshop on Window & Door Testing on 7th January 2026 at the Winwall Testing Facility in Chennai.

Designed as an intensive and practical learning experience, the workshop was limited to a select group of participants to ensure deeper engagement and hands-on exposure. The session began with an introduction to the various performance tests outlined in IS 18648:2024, the benchmark Indian Standard governing the performance of windows and doors.

A key highlight of the workshop was the detailed explanation of passing and failing criteria for each test—an area often misunderstood yet critical for manufacturers, fabricators, and system suppliers. This enabled participants to better interpret test results and align their products with compliance requirements.

What set this workshop apart was its strong emphasis on live practical demonstrations. Participants witnessed the actual execution of tests at the facility, effectively bridging the gap between theoretical understanding and real-world application.

With Winwall hosting the event and providing the testing infrastructure, and UWDMA facilitating participation and industry outreach, the workshop reflected a collaborative effort to raise the bar for quality and performance in the sector.

Through such initiatives, UWDMA continued to play a pivotal role in building technical competence and promoting standardized practices across the industry.

The workshop received positive feedback from participants, who appreciated the clarity, practical insights, and real-time testing experience.
